Seat Ibiza 2008 – early autumn in Poland

Tags: News, Personal, Producers, Seat When I saw the new SEAT Ibiza Bocanegra as presented at the car dealership in New York I was delighted. Today I got from SEAT information about this new model and image that little bit different from the car that I saw in New York. Seat lost somewhere claw. But this is just my subjective impression. I know that in Poland, auto sales will be available in early autumn this year.

The new Seat Ibiza is one of the supermini segment. It was the first car of the Volkswagen group, which was developed on a platform developed specifically for this segment. Ibiza is SEAT's flagship offering in the supermini segment. It is produced in a factory in Martorell, near Barcelona, Spain. As a manufacturer boasts a new Seat jes fourth and most impressive generation of this car. Why? I decided to look at this.

Let's start with the environment. 95% of the car is recyclable, and the level of CO2 for gasoline is less than 120 g / km, and with diesel 160 g / km. Frankly, these values do not impress, and are simply a response to the demands placed on producers by the standard clean exhaust Euro.

The appearance of the car.

The new generation Ibiza was designed under the direction of gap Donckerwolke, author m.in Lamborhini such cars as the Murcielago and Gallardo. I can not say, the new look is impressive. Seat has a predatory figure. A manifestation of the evolution of the vehicle line is primarily a newly designed front and a new interpretation of "dynamic line". The new SEAT concept, called. "Design shots," involved the transfer of headlights and grille on the bonnet line, in order to create the original contour of the tip. "Dynamic Line" was often more exposed along the sides of the vehicle. What I like least in Ibiza is "muscular rear fenders and clearly marked wheel arches.

The car has grown

Dimensions Ibiza built on the new platform include: 4,052 mm long, 1693 mm wide and 1445 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,469 mm and 7 mm greater than the previous generation model. Bigger is not only the passenger compartment. Car trunk has grown to 25 liters a whole, making the new Ibiza is the undisputed leader in its segment, offering 292 liters of luggage space (with rear seats spaced).

Safety Equipment

Actually, no revelations here. Enhancing active safety solutions already known from other SEAT models, such as ABS with electronic brake-force Distribution EBD and EBA emergency brake assist and electronic stability program ESP and traction control system, is now available in all versions of motor Ibiza.

Engines

Range of engines available in the new Ibiza covers six units, including three petrol and three diesel engines. Supporters of petrol engines have the choice: 70 hp 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 85 hp 105 hp. Each of them works with the standard five-speed manual transmission.

In turn, significant changes in diesel engines has contributed substantially to improving performance and increasing the maximum torque. Engine power 1.4 TDI (80 hp) has not changed, but 1.9 TDI unit fitted to the new Ibiza can develop the power of 90 or 105 hp. Like the gasoline versions, including all versions of cars with diesel engines are mounted on a five-gear manual.

The new SEAT Ibiza five-door version will be available in three typical brand trim levels – Reference, Stylance and Sport – characterized by a wealth of equipment regardless of the version. Even the basic version of the Reference equipment includes ABS, front airbags, side airbags protect the chest, electric windows and central locking with remote control.

A new generation of SEAT, however I am not impressed. I have not found anything in it which is not in competition. However, this model is better than the previous one, and it requires no explanation. It is unfortunate that Seat had not gone a step further, though, and so all I would recommend this model, he drove an older version of that model and I am very happy with it.
